Trusting

It has been a tough week.
I struggle with what to say exactly on this blog. It doesn't seem like something for a blog, but it is the fastest way to reach the most people. However, it is hard to make my fingers type. My heart hurts.

We found out last week that Mom's cancer has returned. It is in the area her pancreas used to be, and they are watching a spot in her lung. It is inoperable. She will begin Chemo treatments next Monday. We are praying she can tolerate the treatments, and that they shrink or stabilize the cancer. Pancreatic cancer is fast moving, and typically very aggressive. We were all shocked, and devastated. It is a very hard thing to hear.
Life is precious, and so very fragile.

However,we rejoice in the fact that this is not it for those who trust in Jesus as their Savior. The best is yet to come. Our Heavenly Father has prepared a much better place for us! God is so good.

Please be praying for her, and for Dad. Pray for peace, for relief from the pain, and that these chemo treatments would help. Pray for rest, comfort, and enjoying our times together.

Thank you for your prayers and support. She will be checking this blog, so if you want to leave a comment for her please do.

Psalm 28:7
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

Thank you Lord for such amazing parents!

I will be posting more frequenly now with updates on her progress.

Katie

We will be praying for you, all of you. My heart aches with you as I know this place you are very well. But I rejoice with you too, because when we are broken and empty, that is when we can be filled, and He will be faithful to fill! As the song says, "Better is one day in your house than thousands elsewhere!" We should all cling to this hope and live in this hope, because none of us knows when our appointed time will be. All our love to you guys! Jodi, you are such a beautiful light to so many! You are held up in such love!

Jodie,
Bill and I have been sending our prayers and we have never stopped thinking of you. We pray for your health and strength, comfort and peace, and we praise God that Katie thought of doing this blog. You are amazing Jodie and I just keep thinking how proud Joe was of you. Sending our love, Janet and Bill Gleiforst

Thank you Katie. You know my prayers are constant and we love you all so much. There is hope - miracles happen and our God is bigger than anything we face. The day that your Mom called me to tell me that the cancer had returned, this scripture just kept running through my head: "Because the Lord is at my right hand, I will not be shaken". We prayed all weekend that your family was having a wonderful time in Breckenridge. I know you're making every minute count and that is a good lesson for us all to remember! We love you and remember I am just a phone call away if you need anything!

Jodie, you have been in my prayers constantly and will continue to be there. As Katie keeps saying "God is good," even when we struggle with what is going on in our lives. You are strong in the Lord, and I know there are tons of people holding you and your family up in love and prayer. And please, if you need anything, even an ear or a shoulder, let me know.
